How to get this guy (ladies man) to like me?

There's this guy who's in almost all of my classes at high school, and we've known each other for the past 3 years, but only this year did we start to become closer. I've started to like him, but the trouble is, he's liked by a lot of girls and most of his close friends seem to be girls, so he's kind of a ladies man in a way. He seems a bit cunning too, it's like he deliberately tries to hold the attention of all the girls and wants them all to like him. One day he'll be paying attention to and flirting more with one girl, and the next few days, it'll be another girl....so he's trying to maintain this balance by being liked by all the girls and it probably feeds his ego. I know you're probably thinking, "just leave this guy alone and forget him", but I can't at the moment. So how could I make myself special or different from the other girls so that he'll like me and pay attention to ME. We don't hang out much outside of school, so that gives the other girls an advantage, but in school, we're close. What can I do to make him like me? Maybe in the end, if it works, I won't even act on it..that'll show this ladies man!>:]
